About Christmas FM
Ireland's own Christmas station. Every year it takes to the FM airwaves in the weeks before Christmas, with Irish presenters playing festive hits around the clock and raising money for children's charities. Online, it streams Christmas all season long.
Christmas FM began in Dublin in November 2008 as a temporary licensed station, and spread to Cork, Limerick, Galway and the South East over the following two years. It now reaches much of Ireland on FM each December, with DAB+ in Leinster, an app, smart speakers, and Virgin Media and eir TV.
It is run with volunteer presenters and funded by sponsorship, and charity sits at its heart: it says it has raised more than €3 million for Irish charities since 2008. Recent seasons have supported the Magic of Christmas appeal for Barnardos, Barretstown and Make-A-Wish Ireland.
The FM service runs from 28 November to 27 December each year. Online, Christmas FM Classics and Christmas FM Classical are its sister streams.
